They make so much money that I honestly don’t know why they even give a f***, once the product leaves their warehouse. Can’t believe they were shitting on people for trying to offer consumers better prices on their expensive trash.

I think it's to give their product the illusion of being at a higher value than they actually are, plus Howard Chan's fear of selling below MSRP cheapening the brand. It's no secret that HT is aware of their aftermarket prices and rarely (with the recent exception of Thor) reissue figures.

There's nothing wrong with selling something below MSRP, but Hot Toys wants to project themselves as a lifestyle, and that's not helping collectors. Think BMW, they advertise to every demographic because it's irrelevant if you can't afford one, it's the brand value that counts.

I don’t pick up as many Hot Toys as I used to. Eventually I’ll be lucky to get one a year.

Not being able to mark down figures that tank is a huge risk for stores--especially since they're ordering them way in advance. I feel bad for the stores that stocked up on the new Star Wars trilogy Stormtroopers and are stuck trying to sell them at full price.

Amazing that they pulled that on their own home turf. American companies would tell them to go to hell.
I wish they would. 99% of their lines are completely ignored by me. I wish another high end company would come out of the ether and tell Disney to suck their d***.

Price fixing is illegal in the US as well but look around and tell me it doesn't happen.

That's because they only make it illegal for the little guys. Big corporations can do whatever the hell they want anymore.
